Silent Sunday #21

When it was time to sort out the nursery ready for Boo’s arrival we decided to move Popsy into her new bedroom. We wanted to decorate her room so it was fresh, girly (read pink), would grow with her over the next few years and most importantly wouldn’t break the bank! I love decorating as it gets my creative juices flowing and this one certainly did that with such a small budget!
We decided to go with a design from Laura Ashley (that’s not cheap I hear you shout), but for what we were buying it was affordable as they had a 30% off sale – I bought one roll of wallpaper, three meters of matching material, matching bed set and a gorgeous blanket! Luckily my mum made the curtains from the material, the bed set covered a divan bed my nanna gave us from her spare room and the blanket looked fantastic draped over the back of a rocking chair. So what did I do with the wallpaper??
We needed storage and I’d seen some wardrobes I liked in IKEA. They have a range called Aneboda which include a wardrobe, 3 drawer Chest of Drawers and a smaller 3 drawer Chest of Drawers (which we use as a bedside table). These were relatively cheap and cost us just over £100 for the full collection. The only problem was they had an opaque corrugated plastic as part of the door and drawer panels and I was certain that my dream of colour coded wardrobe and drawer content arranging would never happen so I came up with an idea – I’d get matching wallpaper and stick that to the inside of the doors and drawers therefore hiding what was inside from the outside world! It worked a treat! Here are some pictures:
Ah…. that’s what I did with the wallpaper!
Rastamouse and Da Easy Crew have finally come to DVD, a perfect Christmas present for your pre-schoolers who love watching Rastamouse and friends on CBeebies!
I’m not sure how many times we have watched the DVD but Popsy and Boo love it – Popsy sounds so sweet when she sings a long to the theme tune – ‘Give it up, give it up, give it up for Da Easy Crew…’ Thankfully the DVD comes complete with bonus features which includes 3 sing a long songs and activity pages! Just the right amount to keep Popsy entertained.
Character Online have also released four talking plush toys of Rastamouse, Scratchy, Zoomer and Wensley Dale – we have the Rastamouse plush toy and he’s great fun for Popsy and Boo to play with, I’ve found them sitting together, giggling! Boo thinks it’s ever so funny when Rastamouse talks!
Rastamouse: De Crucial Plan and Other Adventures is available to buy now from retailers, supermarket and online retailers for around £8.50. You can also purchase the Rastamouse plush toy characters from these shops and from Character Online for £12.99.
All together now…
